Thai rapper, singer and dancer Lalisa Manobal — better known as Lisa from the world-famous South Korean girl group Blackpink — has joined the previously announced cast of the third installment of the Emmy-winning HBO Original series “The White Lotus.”
Created by award-winning writer Mike White, the critically acclaimed dark comedy-drama has rounded up Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Francesca Corney, Nicholas Duvernay, Arnas Fedaravičius, Christian Friedel, Scott Glenn, Walton Goggins, Dom Hetrakul, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Julian Kostov, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tayme Thapthimthong and Aimee Lou Wood for the new season, which began production last February, in and around Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok.
The first and second seasons of the show were set in Maui and Sicily, respectively, following the guests and employees of the fictional White Lotus resort chain, whose interactions are affected by their various psychosocial dysfunctions.
Not much has been given away regarding Manobal’s role in Season 3, but fans hope the artist’s renowned fashion sense and trendsetting style will be fully displayed amid her acting debut.
The first installment of “The White Lotus” premiered July 2021 and received 20 Emmy nominations across 13 categories and 10 wins — the most wins of any program that year, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. The second installment premiered in December 2022 and garnered 23 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.
Both seasons are still available to revisit on HBO GO online at https://www.hbogoasia.ph/ or the mobile app via the App Store or Play Store.
