Import Jordan Adams made a triumphant return from a one-game absence.
The hot-shooting Adams dropped 49 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as he led San Miguel Beer to a 139-127 triumph against Phoenix in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup on Friday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Adams was reactivated by the Beermen after being replaced for one game by former Washington Wizards guard Sheldon Mac early this week.
Missing just one game, which SMB won, 119-115, when Mac made what appears to be a one-and-done match, Adams marked his return by converting his two four-point shots, while going 4-of-7 from the three-point zone.
The win enabled the Beermen to hike their record to 5-2 in Group B.
CJ Perez added 23 points, while June Mar Fajardo had 22 pointsa, 11 rebounds and six assists.
Marcio Lassiter logged in 16 after making five triples for the Beermen.
Adams’ effort nearly equaled his 50-point output, which he registered in San Miguel’s 128-108 rout of Blackwater last August.
Phoenix remained winless in seven games as import Brandone Francis’ 48-point production went for naught.
