MANILA, Philippines — Tagged as this year’s “dark horse,” Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) shocked defending champion San Beda University after a 68-55 win in the NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball tournament at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
This is EAC’s first win over San Beda in history.
The Generals ended the third quarter with a 29-point lead, 58-29, after limiting the Red Lion to five points.

EAC made it rain in the third quarter as JC Luciano, King Gurtiza, Axel Doromal, and Harvey Pagsanjan drained triples.
San Beda was stunned in the third canto, as it only scored 12 points, while EAC went fiery with 27 points.
Pagsanjan led the scoring for the Generals with 14 markers, while Luciano added 13.
The Generals took care of their lead in the final quarter after displaying hard-nosed defense.
EAC outscored San Beda in perimeter points, 41-19, and also in starters points, 42-22.
Yukien Andrada was the only Red Lion who put up double figures with 12 points.
EAC and San Beda now hold a 2-2 win-loss card.
