MANILA, Philippines — Barangay Ginebra’s third round pick Paul Garcia inked a two-year deal with the team on Monday, player agent Charlie Dy announced via his social media account.
The Filipino-American guard had a brief stint with Ateneo after spending three years with Salisbury University, an NCAA Division III school.
Garcia gave a good account of himself during Ginebra’s 91-87 triumph over the New Taipei Kings in Macau last week.
That game saw the incoming Ginebra score seven points, including a crucial and-1 play late in the game to help the Gin Kings secure the win in their exhibition match.
Garcia is one of two freshmen whom Ginebra signed for the coming PBA Season 49.
The other rookie is third overall pick RJ Abarrientos.
