MANILA, Philippines: Alex Eala of the Philippines continues to roll in the women’s doubles at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Open 3C Seine-et-Marne in the town of Croissy-Beaubourg in France as she and her partner head into the semifinals.
On Thursday (Friday in Manila), Eala and French partner Estelle Cascino stunned the British-Dutch pair of Emily Appleton and Isabelle Haverlag in two sets, 6-4, 6-0, to advance.
This extended the 18-year-old Filipina’s appearance at the French ITF event after her brief appearance in women’s singles where she bowed in the round of 16.
On Friday night (Manila time), Eala and Cascino are to face the pair Kira Pavlova of Russia and Marie Weckerle of Luxembourg for a spot in the finals.
