MANILA, Philippines: Just two weeks after confirming their controversial relationship, K-drama celebrities Han So Hee and Ryu Jun-yeol have officially parted ways.
On Saturday, Jun-yeol’s agency C-JeS Studios, confirmed the separation saying, “It’s true they broke up. We ask for your understanding as we have nothing else to say except to confirm the breakup.” Later on the same day, So Hee’s agency label 9ATO Entertainment followed it up with an official statement and said, “Han So Hee has made herself and the public suffer due to her personal feelings. The way she communicated was not right. She is sorry. She will receive whatever criticism.” “Additionally, our responsibility is big for not being able to care after our actor as her agency. The company failed in its role as a nest. We are reflecting. It’s very late, but we are attempting to correct it from here on out. We hope you look over her kindly. She will return healthy,” the statement added.
It was on Friday, March 29 when Han So Hee posted a lengthy message on her Instagram to once again deny rumors that her relationship with the actor started as a “transit relationship,” implying that it began before Ryu Joon Yeol had properly ended his previous relationship with singer-actress Hyeri.
“In the end, what I am trying to say is that they were long broken up, but the news reports of their breakup did not go public until November. This is fact, no matter what insiders from that company or my company say otherwise,” said Han So Hee as translated by allkpop.com.
“I just don’t understand why people have to doubt the news articles which reported factual information, but then they also accept other news articles that speculate on the likelihood of a ‘transit relationship’ as reasonable facts. When you look at the malicious comments, the majority of them are private side accounts, which is also a laughable matter,” she added.
She also said she tried to contact Hyeri to apologize but to no avail.
“I have a profession where I am fed and my livelihood is dependent on the love and the faith of the public. Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for my immature and imperfect response to the recent incident. However, I can assure you that this was not a ‘transit’ relationship, that word that I do not wish to even mention. I say that not because I am delusional, but because it is a fact. So if there is something I still have not apologized for, then please specify what that is,” she added.
Han So Hee confirmed the rumors of her relationship with Ryu Jun Yeol in her Naver blog on March 16.
Meanwhile, online entertainment media outlet Dispatch shared paparazzi photos of Han So Hee and Ryu Jun-yeol having a date in Hawaii on March 18.
Han So Hee, 29, is known for her roles in “The World of the Married” (2020), “Nevertheless” (2021), “My Name” (2021), and “Gyeongseong Creature” (2023).
On the other hand, 37-year-old Ryu Jun Yeol rose to prominence through his breakthrough role in the critically acclaimed television series “Reply 1988” (2015 to 2016), the highest-rated drama in Korean cable television history at the time, which also led to him winning various Best New Actor Awards in South Korea.
He has since then starred in the box-office hit films “The King” (2017), “A Taxi Driver” (2017), “Little Forest” (2018), “Believer” (2018), “Money” (2019), “The Battle: Roar to Victory” (2019), “The Night Owl” (2022), and “Alienoid: Return to the Future” (2024).
